The logo of the university is elaborated in colors and shapes as follows:

a. Image

The crest of the university is in the shape of a four-sided shield. The background color is blue and it has a five-winged golden torch in the center of it. The red flame is posed under the embossed golden letters that says UNIVERSITAS PGRI SEMARANG.

b. Colors

1) Blue represents the significance of the university vision, it is as wide and high as the sky in extending knowledge and is adaptable to changes.

2) Golden yellow represents the hope of the nation’s prosperity through successful education that provides the nation with competitive and intelligent young people to take part in the globalization era.

3) Red represents the spirit and bravery in carrying out duties to educate young generation, the successor of the nation.

c. Shape

1) The shield represents defense and forbearance to uphold its name as one of the higher education institutions that delivers skillful, stellar, young generation of professionals who possess strong characteristics in accordance to the aims of the university.

2) The four-sided shield represents that the university is serving the society through four dharma; the university three dharma and exemplary dharma.

3) The torch represents the university functions as a higher education institution that holds the main duty of noble and virtuous service in educating the nation, advancing knowledge and technology by focusing and implementing humanitarian values, strengthening the value and empowering the nation.

4) The five-sheet of flame represents the Pancasila ideology. It also technically means as manners, taste, sense, initiative, and creation of the young generation.

5) Left and right wings with five feathers each represent the development of the university to regional, national, and international levels carrying two mandates for education and non-education fields.

6) The script UNIVERSITAS PGRI SEMARANG, represents the university located in Semarang as an education unit under the wings of YPLP PT PGRI Semarang Foundation and the Ministry of Education and Culture
